A $15 an hour minimum wage: The first step to something bigger

Over the last several decades, the real buying power of the minimum wage in the United States has been steadily dropping. Despite nominal increases, it has failed to keep up with the cost of living, now forcing many working people to live in poverty regardless of how many hours they work. This is why the Communist Labor Party is devoted to joining the fight for a $15 minimum wage, with groups such as 15 Now Oregon and 15 Now Tacoma, both of whom will soon have a chance to put their demands to a popular vote. With so many of the new jobs in the Pacific Northwest being minimum wage, this is essential to defending the Working Class against the worst effects of poverty and to stop the impoverishment of our communities as a whole.
